The Gallavants® Concept is about (re-)connecting children with Nature, addressing the Nature Deficit Disorder * so prevalent in our young generation of today. The average child spends 40 - 50 hrs / wk in front of, or plugged into, some electronic device. The aim of this project is to get children outdoors to explore our natural world firsthand with all their senses.
Although the commercialization of the Gallavants® property has been inactive for some time, the concept itself has continued to evolve and expand through Kersti Frigell's inspiration and creativity.
The mission has become increasingly clear and defined: "To turn kids on to the magic of Nature and to encourage them to nurture a life-long love for and connection to that which sustains us and all life on this planet."
The Gallavants® will provide a continuous source of fun nature-facts, ideas and suggestions for kids' outdoor activities.
These lively little characters aspire to play the role of kids' nature-guides and playmates. They want to tickle kids' imagination and inspire the creativity that naturally flows in fertile, young minds.
The Gallavants® Concept was originally created by Kersti Frigell and Annie Shaw. It is a unique and fully developed idea that continues to unfold and grow in a gentle organic way.
The Gallavants® Website is unique as well, with its ultimate goal of getting kids OFF the web and out in nature.
There will be plenty of games that get kids OUTDOORS, not sitting in front of a screen!
